Cleaning the Print Caput

Using the Head Cleaning utility

If you find that the printed image is unexpectedly faint or dots in the printed image are missing, you may be able to solve these problems by cleaning the print head, which ensures that the nozzles are delivering ink properly.

You tin can clean the print head from your computer using the Head Cleaning utility in the printer software, or from the printer itself past using the printer'southward control console buttons.

Note:

Print head cleaning consumes some ink. To avoid wasting ink, clean the print head only if impress quality declines; for example, if the printout is blurry or the color is incorrect or missing.

Use the Nozzle Check utility first to confirm that the print caput needs to be cleaned. This saves ink.

Do non kickoff the Caput Cleaning or Nozzle Check utility while printing is in progress; otherwise, your printout may be marred.

Using the Caput Cleaning utility

Refer to the appropriate section below to apply the Head Cleaning utility.

For Windows users

Follow the steps below to make clean the print head using the Head Cleaning utility.

Click the Utility tab and click the Caput Cleaning button.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

The  power light and the  ink lights flash while the printer performs the cleaning bicycle.

If the nozzle check folio does not print satisfactorily, y'all may need to echo the head cleaning and impress the nozzle bank check pattern again.

If impress quality hasn't improved after repeating this procedure 4 or five times, turn the printer off and exit it alone overnight. Then do the nozzle check again, and repeat the caput cleaning if necessary.

If the impress quality however has non improved, some of the ink cartridges may be old or damaged and may demand to be replaced. To supersede an ink cartridge before it is empty, see Replacing an Ink Cartridge.

If print quality remains a problem after replacing the ink cartridges, contact your dealer.

Follow the steps below to clean the print head using the control panel buttons.

The printer starts cleaning the print head and the  ability light and the  ink lights begin flashing.

If print quality has not improved after repeating this procedure four or five times, turn the printer off and go out it alone overnight. Then do the nozzle cheque over again, and repeat the head cleaning if necessary.
